Composition Assignment

This post is to show different compositional techniques discussed in chapter six. To take these shots I simply walked around IPFW and was able to find quite a few shots from the bike / jogger trail on campus.

Linear and rule of thirds. I really liked how the bike path led to the jogger and then the large tree in the background.

Framing and Linear. Students enjoying their walk as they make it to their next class.

Silhouette, framing, and linear. I was trying to get a lower shot of the obelisk and was playing with the camera settings when I saw how this frame was lighting up and decided to shoot as is. I really like how the obelisk and trees are kept dark while showing a lot of light and detail in the clouds passing overhead. The trees frame the obelisk and the obelisk points directly to the clouds overhead.
